How to order a custom handmade carpet from Torana... and the services we offer |
1) Talk to us: come see our stores and discuss your requirements with our staff, or contact us by mail. Do bring or email photos of your space, textile swatches if you have them. Look at handmade carpets in our store and we will help with suggestions. |
2) Customize: based on your needs we will propose a handmade rug to suit. This can range from a custom size of an existing design ... through custom colors and design modifications, or even a completely novel design. |
3) Color: our unique strength is that we do all our own color formulation in-house in Beijing, so if we don't have the right shade in our color library we can make it for you. If you bring along a textile swatch or Pantone reference we can match it or (better) develop "themes and variations", like the color set shown below. |

4) Rendering: in many cases we will provide a color rendering of your final rug. If appropriate we may also make a "strike-off" (a small sample carpet to show the fina color and texture) for your approval. |
5) Hand-weaving: our handmade Tibetan rugs are woven at our workshop in Lhasa based on a graph prepared by our designer Chris Buckley |
